Mental Health First Aid is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional treatment is received or until the crisis resolves. As the most accessible health professionals, community pharmacists and community pharmacy staff will, at times, need to provide care to people who are experiencing a mental health issue.

Course Content

The course covers helping adults in mental health crisis situations and/or in the early stages of mental health problems.

Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of these mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.

This course will be held in the Victorian Branch Boardroom, Hawthorn. Both sessions need to be attended.

This course is delivered by Stan Goma who is accredited to deliver this course.

CPD Credits

This activity has been accredited for 24 CPD credits of Group 2 activity suitable for inclusion in an individual pharmacist’s CPD plan by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia. Accreditation number: CX110058
